Mens' Scratch Team Go 5 Points Clear

With a great 5½ - 2½ win at South Staffs today the Mens' Scratch League Team have moved 5 points clear of their nearest challengers in Division 1.  With only positive points scored in away matches this is a big lead, even though the other five teams have played less matches.  Our team have two matches left, the return fixure against South Staffs at home on Tuesday 18th July then Harbourne at home on Wednesday 2nd August.  Olton last won Division 1 in 1991 so hopefully it will be a big night for celebration on 2nd August.

Scratch Run Continues

The Men's Scratch League team continued their winning run with a convincing 7-1 home defeat of Enville thus achieving the double over them this season.  This win maintains a 3 point advantage over their closest challengers.  With only positive points scored in away matches this is a significant lead.  Olton have only three more matches, the next one being away at South Staffs this Sunday 9th July,  Although the other five teams in the top division have played less games Olton continue to be the team to beat.
