It's always nice when a visitor says that they've been looking forward to a visist to OGC for ages and that, in fact, it's their highlight of the season. Thus spake the Walsall Captain at lunchtime today and why wouldn't he? We provided excellent weather, a course in tip top condition, free coffee, muffins and biscuits half way round and a super lunch of Hake followed by Bread and Butter Pudding with lashings of custard. To round it off we let them win their first away match of the season by 4 1/2 to 1 1/2. Spoiling the hospitality were Peter Harrison and Tony Sumpter who won and Richard Birkin and John Martin who halved. Despite the loss Brian was celebrating his last home match as Captain and who would deny what a fantastic job he's done over the last 4 years - two as Vice and two as Skipper. Sincere thanks Brian and let's hope for a final flourish at Ladbroke Park next week.
