How are the mighty fallen? They are fallen in Meriden apparently as the Senior's (short) unbeaten run comes to a sticky end. Mind you, as Captain Terry had delegated the captaincy to (Sir) John Molesworth for the day can he argue that his unbeaten run is still intact?
Another very wet day, but NW's drainage is such that trolley's and buggies were still permitted and the greens were surprisingly good. This was little help as we succombed to a 1 1/2 to 5 1/2 reverse with a win for Ian Major/ Peter Harrison and a half for Ken Crossland/ Dave Ryall. Two matches went right to the 18th, so things could have been different. The Mole is on record as wanting to win at NW before he is ninety. He says he has has two opportunities left.
