On a glorious Spring day that we 'shared' with St George and the Bard, the 2021 Olton Ladies Spring Invitation saw 28 teams, with visitors from 14 different golf clubs, competing, a fabulous turnout.  Although this year's event took on a slightly different format due to compliance with the COVID-19 requirements, we had a super day and it was lovely to see a bit of 'normality' returning to our golfing lives, particularly after last year's event had to be cancelled due to the 'Lockdown'.  The excellent weather meant everyone was able to enjoy sitting on the patio both before and after their rounds taking refreshments.  The course presented beautifully and all credit goes to Mark Smith and his team for providing us with both a picturesque and challenging course, boy some of those pin positions ...!  The results were really close with many of the final positions going to countback, with the final 'prize winning' results being as follows:    

1st Prize - Pauline Fish and Sue Busz from Moseley with 40 points

2nd Prize - Faith Walker and Pam Corbett from Ladbrook Park with 38 points (on countback)

3rd Prize - Jeannie Morrison and Brenda Harris from Ladbrook Park with 38 points 

4th Prize - Debbie Forbes and Kathleen Culverwell from Stratford with 37 points  (on countback)

5th Prize - Dianne Corless and Sandy Dallas from Walsall with 37 points

Best Front 9 - Christina Kennedy and Glenda Loram from Maxstoke Park (on countback)

Best Back 9 - Linda Maginnis and Margaret Taylor from Shirley (on countback)

And finally to quote the Bard himself regarding our event ... "All's well that ends well" ... and I think we can truly say our event ended well.  We look forward to our visitors returning for next year's Spring Invitation and to the forthcoming Ladies 3-Ball Alliance and Opens this Summer at OGC.
