Thank you from Lady Captain

To all Members, your families and your friends who have  helped and supported me through my two years as Lady Captain - please may I say a huge thank you.

My Charity was Guide Dogs and my aim was to raise £5,000 to name a guide dog puppy.  With help in year one from past Captain Nic and past Lady President Lynda, we managed to name Heaton our first puppy.  I am thrilled to say that we at Olton now have puppy number two and he will be called Caddie (no photographs as yet).  Your generousity and support has helped us raise £14,072 in total.

Thank you so much everyone.

Loving Cup 10 November 2018

The first Loving Cup of the season took place on Saturday 10th November.

After an evening of celebrating our 125th Anniversary Captain Moray and Lady Captain Ray took charge of the event and Captained the six teams who took up the challenge.  Although we started off in sunshine, some rain tried to dampen our spirits but did not suceed and, at the end of the competition both Captains were still smiling as the match finished as a draw. Liquid refreshment was then shared from the Cup by all who took part.

A huge thank you to all who played.

New Girls try their hand at Golf - OGC style!

The Club welcomed a group of ladies last Saturday afternoon to a brief "taster" of what the game had to offer.

Although it was a bitterly cold afternoon - resolute and focused, they were determined not to let the temperature affect their enjoyment of the occasion.

Charlie gave them some pointers on the driving range and some of the lady members, were there to give them some advice on the putting green.

Everyone enjoyed some food and a glass of fizz afterwards. Although it was difficult to assess the potential handicaps on show - the performance at the 19th hole warrented "Scratch Handicaps" for all concerned!

Car Park

Friday 26th Oct....Saturday 27th Oct...Sunday 28th Oct

The Greens Shed is being demolished over this weekend which will involve heavy /large  vehicles . They will require large turning circles and to this end we will be blocking off areas of The Car Park by the entrance to the sheds.

Would Members kindly use spaces beginning at  the barriers as this would help tremendously

Many thanks

Steve
