The Olton Cup and Bowl 2016

Following last years washout of this prestigious event, this years 'Olton Major' was played in glorious conditions with the course presented in beautiful but tough conditions.
Our very own George Kennedy was the only player to break a nett par in the morning but players benefitted from their experience with omproved rounds in the afternoon sunshine.
Yet again the sun shone on Joe Macilwraith who won the Olton Bowl with a gross 144 and it was Mark Dixon from Moseley who won the Olton Cup with a nett 139 after a countback with Ashley Wilding from Robin Hood.
Another great OGC Golfing Day!

Birkett Barker Shield and Presidents Salver

Sean King emerged victorious from 45 Birkett Barker competitors who played in ideal weather and course conditions. He was 'king of the course' with a stunning 2nd best ever nett score of 132 for the 36 holes beating Jamie Taylor into second place on 134 and George Parker in 3rd with 137.
Sean's score in conjunction with his 146 in May's Birkett Barker Trophy was good enough to win him the Presidents Salver with a 72 hole total of 278 beating George Parker on 280 and Liam Phipps on 286.
Sean is pictured here with the Captain presenting him with both trophies.
