Birthday Wishes

Congratulations to Honorary Life Member, Ken Wilkinson, on his 99th Birthday.

Scratch Team return to winning ways

After a close defeat away to Moseley last week the Mens' Scratch League team returned to winning ways with a resounding 6-2 win over the same club at Olton. This result again showed the strength in depth of the squad with Liam Phipps & captain George Parker unavailable.  This result means that the team remain in a strong position 3 points clear at the top of the league.

Ladies Club Championship

The Ladies' Club Championship took place in beautiful sunshine on Wednesday 14th June. The course was immaculate thanks to the work of Mark Smith and his team.  Twenty-two ladies completed the 36 holes, the greatest number of entries in recent years which perhaps shows we are all getting fitter despite the aging process. The winner of the gross prize was Christina Kennedy with 168. Gross runner up was Hilary Dixon with176. The nett trophy was won by Heather Miller with a nett 144, runner up being Annette Bucknall, nett 149.  Three ladies secured the twos prizes and Jane Frith won the best back 9 on countback with 45. Congratulations to our new champion, Christina, and to all those who completed 36 holes, no easy task.
