The Anglo's were all smiles at the gathering of the Clans!

What a Saturday, what an atmosphere, with all Anglos on a high after a convincing 9 1/2 to 15 1/2 victory over the Celts.  OGC at its best with the good news that the paramedics stationed in the car park were never required!

The Captain of the Celts, MARTIN BUTLIN (BUTO) was jubilant in the success of the Anglo's.  Many were concerned about the Captain of the Celts, Moray Hulme who looked totally deflated.

A Great Day, Great golf, Great competition, played in great spirit, with some dapper dressers, and to top it off what a voice the Anglo Captain has!  I have never heard JERUSALEM sung with such style and panache.

Special thanks go to the Marshall, Malcolm Widall for chasing the only 4 ball to lose a hole ..... David WIdall being the culprit!

Olton Seniors Pairs Autumn Open

90 golfers from 36 different Golf Clubs played in the Olton Seniors Pairs Autumn Open on 15th October.

The weather was kind to us and a good time was had by all those competing. The golf course in particular was in excellent condition.
The Winners were P Griffiths and M Rossborough from Kenilworth with 46 points and in second place was our very own Mr President, Dennis Pick and David Johns with 42 points and in third place were W Hall and T Williams from Hearsall with 41 points.

Yet another superb day at OGC.

More success for Olton ladies - Olton win Warwickshire Rene Greey Trophy

For the second time this week, Olton ladies were in the winners enclosure.
County Captain, Karen Hearn, and her partner, Ruth Hall, won the final Warwickshire competition of the season, the Rene Greey Trophy.  The foursomes competition for past captains of Warwickshire clubs was played at Kenilworth Golf Club on Wednesday 7th October and has not been won by an Olton pair since 1997.  Ruth and Karen came in with a magnificent 40 stableford points, 2 points ahead of the pair from Forest of Arden G&CC.  Karen was delighted to win the competition, one of the final events of her two year captaincy of the county.

Olton's other pair, Jeannie Morrison and Norma Young, came a very creditable 7th out of a field of 31.

OGC Juniors defend their Central Warwickshire League title

What a day!  The lads were victorious in defending their Central Warwickshire League title

Our junior team captained for the day by James Bowen (Joe was involved with County comps), won the finals play-off against Ladbrook Park at Ladbrook GC by 2 1/2  games to 1 1/2.

They finished off the season in style having won all 6 matches in their division to reach the final. This team performance was particularly good considering that we played several new players. The team consisted from left to right of Josh Parsons, Joe Geoghegan, Jon Chapman, James Bowen (captain), Reece Wyatt, Sam Bissell , Andy Hooper and Nyamal Islam Ali (not in the photo).

Well done lads!!
