Ladies Charity AmAm 28 August 2019
On Wednesday 28th August early on a sun tinged morning 92 golfers met to take part in the Charity AMAM in aid of Marie Curie Solihull.
After a healthy breakfast, bacon buttie and coffee, the jolly ambiance in the club house set the scene for the rest of the day.
As we golfers did our best, tackling the swift greens on our fabulous course we were rewarded for our efforts with cakes, all made by our ladies, and liquid refreshment at the half way house.
On finishing our round, we found the Heaton Lounge looking spectacular, prepared for lunch dressed in the yellow and blue of Marie Curie, the prize table overloaded with golf and raffle prizes and some exceptionally good items for auction all enhanced by beautiful floral arrangements.
Thanks must go to Lady President Sylvia for her choice of charity on behalf of the ladies and for her flowers. To Lady Captain Christina and Lady President Elect Jeannie for their dedication organisation and enthusiasm who, with their team of helpers on the day, made this a very special event.
Our thanks also to our Pro shop, caterers, and bar staff and to all our sponsors who donated/were persuaded to provide our prizes and to Mr Frank Carter who always manages to squeeze every last penny form our purses and pockets for the Charity.
We may have gone home from the event poorer in pennies but richer in friendships made and renewed after such a great day.
Marie Curie will receive a cheque for £5,311.28 (and still counting).
