Olton Golf Club Cup & Bowl Monday 31st August 2020

The Olton Cup saw our youngest ever winner, Sam Easterbrook, with a winning score of 137 Net.

The Olton Bowl witnessed a tie between Sam Broadhurst (Atherstone Golf Club) & Joe Macilwraith Olton Golf Club with score of 134 gross 6 under par. The eventual winner after a 3 hole play off was Sam Broadhurst.

Olton Golf Club - Championship - Saturday 22nd August

Saturday saw 68 participants playing in this year's Club Championship over 36 holes. The field split into 3 divisions saw some excellent golf despite some difficult windy conditions. Captain Elect Peter Dixon was on hand to announce the winners and present the Cup

  • Overall winner and new Club Champion with two rounds of 68 for a total of 136 was Joe Macilwraith. Runner up was Luke Allen with a total of 141
  • Division 6 to 9 winner was new member James McMahon
  • Division 10 to 15 winner was Keith Berttschin

Men's Senior Pairs Open

Tuesday August 18 saw the welcome return of an Open event to OGC, with the hosting of the August Men’s Senior Pairs.

The weather was good, the rain stayed off, and the course was in great condition as 75 teams set out from the 1st tee from 08.10 am onwards.

The top ten better ball scores were all on 42 points or above, with the outright winners being David Round and Bill MacIntosh of Hagley Golf Club with a score of 47 points. Richard Higham of Ellesborough G C made sure of the Hole-in-One prize by holing out at the 13th and a bottle of whisky has been put behind the bar there, courtesy of OGC. All those who helped will be pleased to know that we received many compliments on the course, the food and the hospitality in general, both on the day and in writing subsequently.
