It is purely coincidence that the current run of success coincides with the B Team Captain's non-availability through injury as we chalked up a solid victory at home to Coventry.
My thanks to Ken Crossland for stepping in as Captain as he lead the team to a 4-2 victory. Unfortunately, Ken and Martin Dalton were our only losers on the day, succumbing 4/3. Honourable halves were gained by David Newman with Ian Sparkes and Malcolm Traves with Derek Birt. Terry Tucker and Paul Higgins won 3/2 as did Gerry Donohoe and Dave Lakin.
Our biggest winners at 5/3 were Malcolm Black and Keith Phipps, congratulotions to all our players. We also received very complementary feedback from Coventry on the condition of the course, the catering and the ambience of OGC, so pats on the back all round.
Next up is Shirley away on Wednesday 31st May, captained by Gerry Donohoe in my continued absence, followed on Monday 12th June away to Fulford Heath then at home to Old Silhillians on Wednesday 21st June and at home to Handsworth on Wednesday 28th June.
Team sheets and availability sheets will be on the noticeboard so keep your eyes peeled.
A new date for the B Team Medal will be announced soon, I hope.
