For the first time we held both the girls’ and boys’ opens on the same day. The girls played 18 holes and the boys 36 holes. There were 8 girls and 35 boys entered, a big improvement on last year. The morning rounds were hit with heavy rain at times but this did not prevent some exceptional scoring in both competitions.
The girls’ gross trophy was won by Lauren Beaman, 15 handicap from Moor Hall GC with 85 gross. The net trophy was won by Ellie Leech from Robin Hood, 18 handicap net 71. Emily Hug from Olton was 3rd with a net 73.
The Boys Gross Salver was won by Sam Broadhurst from Atherton with rounds of 66 and 71, 137. Joe Macilwraith from Olton was 3rd with rounds of 67 and 75.
The Boys’ net Trophy was won by Olton’s Jon Chapman with net rounds of 66 and 63, 129 with a handicap of 14 now reduced to 9. Olton's Sam Bissell was second on count-back from Alex Ford from Robin Hood with 135.
The Olton boys won 7 of the 12 prizes on offer
