We had 12 junior members of OGC in a field of 54. Luke Allen, Martin Wingrove and Niyamal Islam Ali were in  the top 8 best net scores

During the summer months we will be running medals on Monday evenings for juniors to get their handicaps reduced. There will not be a start sheet, entry fee nor prizes. You must register in the pro's shop and put your card into the competition box. If the competiton has been set up on the computer, enter your scores as usual. CSS for the comp will be calculated and handicaps can go up as well as down.

The Warwickshire Junior Order of Merit starts from April 1st. During April and each month up to and including September, points will be awarded for successes in the various Olton Junior competitions, matches won at Junior and club level, and Knock out competition results. Points are awarded for both Gross and net scores in junior competitions. At the end of the month the best 6 players are awarded points that are submitted to Warwickshire for inclusion in the Warwickshire JOOM, won last year by Mike Pell. For April the top 6 players were: Mike Pell 600 points, George Taylor 500.Ben Silver 400,Tom Flynn 300, Amanvir Uppal 200,Rob Farley 100. The Midweek Academy will start on Thursday 6th May and thereafter Mondays and Thursdays until the end of August. This year there will a concentration on the under 14's, as last year the club professional will offer a 1 hour coaching session folowed by some practice and fun challenges. We will be running both the EGU National Skills Challenge and the Olton Short game challenge. Junior members may take part for free for  non members there is a charge of £2 per night. For beginners we will be running the Golf Foundation Passport scheme throughout the summer. It helps us if everyone can arrive by 6-00pm to prevent us having to repeat instructions and or coaching.

The 1st round of the EGU National Skills challenge will take place on Thursday April 29th at 6-00. Please be there on time. We will be again concentrating on the under 14's. There are age groups 8 and under, 9-11 and 12-14. The scores will be recorded Nationally the best score in the country going forward to regional and national finals. The challenges cover putting , chipping, pitching,bunkers and full swing. The best scores in each age group will  be presented with a prize at the annual prize presentation.

Frncesca Palser retained her title as the Warwickshire Girls under 12's Champion for 2010 at the Stoneliegh Deer Park Golf Club on Wednesday April 7th. 

The under 14's team played their first match of the year against Robin Hood. Lead by the under 14's captain George Taylor they won 2.5 to 1.5.  

The first match of the season is against Copt Heath at Copt Heath. We are in the fortunate position of having a lot of competition for team places this year. We will pick the team for the 1st match based on performances in the Wiseman Cup, Old Silhillians's Salver and the Olton Junior Cup. The team will be selected immediately after the Olton Junior Cup competition.

Erika Dean kept up her good form this year by winning the ladies 36 holes club trophy with a score of 147. Well done Erika

The Whitsun Trophy was won by Jamie Taylor with a net score of 69 in a card playoff fromJoel palser who recorded the best Gross score of 80 net 69 . The best Division 2 score was from Dhiren Patel with gross 100 net 69 .

The President's junior trophy competition was held sunday14th April. Out of 22 competitors 17 scored within the buffer zone. The presidents Trophy was won by Jack Dean with a score of 64 net. Mike Pell recorded the best gross score of 70 net 65. Jake Burgess won the div 2 prize with net 66 and 9 year old James Bowen was best of the wee wonders with net 62. 11 players improved their handicaps.

Erika Dean put all her hard work in practice to good use coming 2nd to Bev Belcher by one shot in the Olton Ladies Club Championship on Wednesday 10th June.

Niyamal Ali won the Harborne Junior Open with a gross 96 42 points. Jamie Taylor was 3rd with 39 points and also won the longest drive competition. 

Seven Olton Juniors played in the Ladbrook Park Open on Sunday 17th May. Mike Pell had the 2nd best gross and net scores with 74 net 69. Joel Palser, Martin Wingrove and Ben Westley came home with the best team prize with net scores or 71,72,72 respectively.
