ADA Stands for the 'Alternate Day Away' event which takes place every Bank Holiday weekend in August due to the closure of the course on Monday. The event is held at the weekend to enable all of the 'Alternate Day Ladies' to attend (because they are unable to attend the Lady Captains Away Day which is always held mid-week on a Wednesday), and is also open to all Lady members. This year the ADA weekend was organised by Christina Kennedy and took place at the Marriott Worsley Park Golf and Spa resourt near Manchester. Twenty four ladies attended the event and the weather was kind to us. On Saturday we played a 'Fun competiton' which was a 4BBB Stableford followed by an individual Stableford competition on Monday.
On Saturday, first place went to Annette Bucknall and Hilary Dixon, in second place-Jane Frith and Susan McKenna, and in third place were Bev Belcher and Lizzi Browne.
On Sunday, the ADA competition was won by Hilary Dixon, 2nd Lizzi Browne, 3rd Wendy McIntyre. The best front 9 went to Bev Belcher, back 9 to Lynda Cooper, with NTP Susan McKenna and the LD going to Christina Kennedy. Well done Ladies as it was a tough long course!
Unfortuantely our Lady Captain was unable to join us this year and a couple of our ADA founder members which was a real pity, however some of our more recent members were able to join the annual ADA weekend away. A great weekend was had by all and our deepest thanks go to Christina for organising the event - and good luck to Hilary as now her role is to organise the ADA 2017 Trip.
